Teleflora Spreads Cheer to Seniors
July 14, 2009
Teleflora Canada will bring smiles to St. Paul’s L’Amoreaux Centre’s residents next week as a part of its 6th annual Make Someone Smile Week campaign. St. Paul’s L’Amoreaux Centre, an agency providing community services and housing for seniors in Scarborough, was fortunate to be selected as a participant for the Teleflora promotion. Thousands of Teleflora member florists and community volunteers will help deliver bouquets in the company’s keepsake Be Happy® Mugs to those most in need of a smile – such as hospital patients, children in foster care, Meals-on-Wheels clients and nursing home residents. These lovely floral bouquets will be delivered to 200 lucky St. Paul’s residents during the week of July 19th-25th, 2009. Residents will be selected by a random draw to participate in this event.
The Make Someone Smile Week program was established in the year 2000, and has grown to become one of the floral industry’s leading charitable projects. Teleflora brightens the day of countless individuals who may not otherwise receive flowers. The program is a collective effort with the time and effort of Teleflora florists, the donation of Be Happy mugs by Teleflora, and flowers provided by local wholesalers and growers.
Thanks to Teleflora and its local florists for the opportunity to brighten the day of many of St. Paul’s residents. As in the words of William Arthur Ward: “a warm smile is the universal language of kindness.”
