Placements students in health and other related professional fields may have to complete a 6 week work placement in order to graduate. Are you interested in doing your placement at SPLC? Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
Meals on Wheels Driver
This position requires the volunteer to use their own vehicle to deliver meals to community clients
Mileage is reimbursed, must be willing to provide a police check
Time required: 2 hours per week; Monday - Friday, 11 am - 1 pm
This position requires you to visit seniors and engage in friendly conversations and leisure activities
Must be willing to provide a police check
Time required: 1 hour per week within office hours
This role requires volunteers to help seniors buy their grocery items.
Time required: 1½ hours per week; weekdays only
Day Program Assistant
- Assist staff with social and recreational activities for clients; help escort clients to and from the Day Program area
- Full day shift: 9 am - 3 pm
- Morning shift: 9 am - 12 pm
- Afternoon shift: 12 pm - 3 pm
Food, Beverage & Hospitality Assistant
- This role requires volunteers to set tables, serve food and beverages, greet clients and escort clients to and from program areas
- Monday - Saturday
- Lunch shift: 11 am - 2 pm
- Dinner shift: 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm
