Over 100 programs and events are provided weekly to older adults in the community. Classes are designed to be fun and keep participants physically and mentally active. It is a great environment to meet new friends. Adults over 55 can buy a membership to join "members-only" programs as well as take advantage of reduced rates in most other programs.
The Recreation Department arranges special events such as holiday celebrations, special performances and fundraising events. These events provide entertainment to clients and residents, and encourage fun and socializing. Day trips such as boat tours, museum visits, concerts, plays and musicals are organized monthly. They provide a rejuvenating experience for seniors, and lets them explore areas close to their home.
The goal of health talks and fairs is to help enhance clients' health knowledge and to promote independent living.
Regular seminars and health fairs are organized at the Centre to provide the most up-to-date information for seniors. Issues such as health knowledge as well as benefits and services available to seniors are addressed. Professional guest speakers, social workers and health care providers conduct seminars and participate in health fairs.
