As the holiday season approaches, many of us are looking forward to cozying up at home. Let’s not forget the seniors in our community who are lacking a safe haven.

More seniors in Toronto are becoming unhoused. 15% of shelter users in the city are 60 and over, compared to 10% in 2018 (Toronto Street Needs Assessment, 2021). Most shelters don’t have adequate supports for these older adults.

Senior Persons Living Connected (SPLC) provides services that enable seniors to age safely at home and remain housed. These services include recreation classes and health education, care management, home help for seniors and more to ensure that seniors’ unique social and healthcare needs are met.

Our services support thousands of seniors, including those who live at St. Paul’s L’Amoreaux Centre and St. Paul’s Terrace Seniors’ Residence, as well as those in the broader community.

While our funders are generous, we need your help to keep delivering life-changing impacts.

As an organization with decades of history in affordable housing and support services, we know that it takes more than four walls for people to age in place. Isolation and food insecurity are daily challenges for many in the community. Resulting health and cognitive declines can be even more difficult for our clients who are racialized or whose primary language isn’t English.

We see the confidence in aging at home securely that our supports give to seniors and caregivers. These profound impacts are the result of our community’s support and our team’s dedication.

Please consider making a contribution of $25 or $50 today. Your donation will help us deliver in-home and community supports and affordable housing to older adults in need.

Thank you for being a part of our compassionate community.
