Looking for activities and companionship for an older adult who prefers to stay at home? SPLC’s Day Program at Home brings meaningful activities, social connection and personalized support directly to seniors in the comfort of their own homes.
A friendly Personal Support Worker (PSW) visits to lead activities such as chair exercises, quizzes, games, colouring, short walks, digital learning and friendly conversation. All activity supplies are provided!
Each visit is tailored to individual needs and interests. The service can also include some personal care and light homemaking to support everyday independence.
Support for Seniors and Care Partners
Staying active and socially connected is important at every age. With Day Program at Home, older adults can enjoy companionship and activities without needing to travel to a centre-based program.
The visits also offer family caregivers and care partners some time to rest, run errands or attend to other responsibilities, knowing their loved one has someone to spend time with and provide support.
Service Details
- Eligibility: Adults aged 55 and older
- Fee: $25 per hour (2-hour minimum)
- Service area: West of McCowan to east of Bayview, and north of Ellesmere to south of Steeles
